Are drugs and prostitution legal in some countries which are not total disasters?

Just curious, are there any countries where drugs (that are illegal on the U.S) and prostitution are 100% legal, and those same countries aren’t royally screwed up by the legality of those vices? If so, which countries are they, or do they even exist?

  1. Jim says:

    Holland and California (North)

Prostitution is legal in The Netherlands and in Japan. The profession is tightly monitored by the government in both countries for public health reasons and prostitute’s wages are taxed as well. This has kept the profession from being overrun by pimps and assorted thieves.

I do not know about drugs.

  3. Question G says:

    Nevada has legal prostitution.
Also, Amsterdam, which has legalized marijuana and prostitution, has made number 13 on the top places worldwide to live, based on a mercer score. Mercer scores take into account stuff like murder rates, literacy rates, infant survival rates, etc.
Incidentally, the first American city is Honolulu, at 29. (Really 30, since there was a tie for no. 4)
