Dazwischen Prostitution, Raub, Körperverletzung. Die Menschen, die diesen Mikrokosmos am Leben erhalten sind die Protagonisten von Strasse des Verlangens. Aalor Pipasa was released on 1965 Bengali film starring Basanta Chowdhury, Sandhya Roy, Anup Kumar, Asha Debi, Anubha Gupta, Satindra Bhattacharya, Somnath Mondal, Sabita Singh, Bhanu Ghosh, Master Subrata, Samar Kumar. The Bengali film is directed by Tarun Majumdar. Hemanta Mukhopadhyay scored the music in the film. The story is as an aged doctor narrates the story of a prostitute called Roshanbai. Roshanbai used to entertain visitors to the brothel with ‘mujra’ every night. As the doctor recollects the memory of Roshanbai, her son comes to meet him. Roshan’s son has become a doctor and a good human being. The doctor gives him Roshan’s jewellery box which he had preserved. Roshan’s son does not accept it. The picture of Roshan in the jewellery box reminds him of the day when he first visited Roshan’s brothel. There he had cured an ailing child whose mother was Sharoma Banerjee. One night when the doctor had come to attend a dinner invitation at her place, he had discovered that the child’s real mother was a prostitute Roshanbai. When the doctor asked her about her past, Roshanbai narrated her story to the doctor. In the past, Roshanbai used to visit the bathing ghat every morning where she could hear the prayers of a brahmin. Roshan liked him and decided to leave her profession with the wish of a new life with the brahmin. She showered Sohanlal, the agent with money so that he would free her from the profession. One day Roshan pretending to be a destitute brahmin girl …

(5a part de 5) El programa Callejeros, guiat pel reporter Jalis de la Serna, viatja al sòrdid mon de la prostitució en el reportatge “Meretrices”. Cap a 300 000 dones exerceixen la prostitució a l’Estat espanyol. Moltes ho fan al carrer. Allí no hi tenen ni patró ni horaris. Avui, el mercat el dominen les dones de l’Est perquè “tiren els preus”, segons confesa una prostituta rumana. Al barri xinès de València exerceix Yeyé, una noia que va caure a les urpes de l’heroïna i que vui, per un grapat d’euros ven el seu cos. Fuensanta treballa des de fa tres anys oferint informació i preservatius a les prostitutes de Múrcia. Susana és un cas atípic. Té cap a quaranta anys i exerceix només des de fa un any. Cobra 10 euros el francès i 20 el complet. A Catalunya, Callejeros assisteix a una redada policial en un voral a partir de les queixes dels veïns.
