This is what people don’t get. When Katrina hit, and the efforts to help New Orleans was met with so many failures, everyone wanted to blame the Feds. But the reality is Vitter is just one of many incredibly useless people who run things in Louisiana.
I’m not saying FEMA didn’t make mistakes, but the problem with Louisiana is because they keep electing tools like Nagen and Vitter and wonder why things suck in Louisiana.

well yes dumbass, a strong public option will save billions. the conservative congressional budget office projects 90 billion over ten years. the current private market skims 35% of all money from patients, doctors and hospitals. if a single payer, public option were to be put in place like medicare, it would run at about a 6% overhead, thus adding billions more to the system. left as it is, the uninsured will eat up a gdp of about 18% federally which will eventually bankrupt us all.
and of course dumbass, there is the current fucked up system you love so much, where they deny claims for just about anything, charge $260 for a drug that costs $4, let 44,000 die a year, because hey, that’s what the richest fucking country in the world does. and the only one. 83% of the people who have to use free clinics actually work, millions more are under insured.
