Find Shinjuku is just a red light district, where to get some local authentic foods in Shinjuku Tokyo?

To my impression, Shinjuku is a red light district in Tokyo and some shopping, but can I know where to get to try very authentic local Japanese foods?
Hi, Jin, maybe you ought to check out outside of Shinjuku? Like, Aoyama.
Not all Shinjuku is such a red light district in Tokyo as well as NYC. There are tons of authentic local foods there. You won’t miss those things even if you are from far away outside of Japan once after you just drop in any convenience store near you.
Agree that it is the red light district in Tokyo, but there many delicious and authentic foods there, some restaurants even operated since 100 years ago.
Example:
Kitazawa Club, the No.1 revolving sushi shop in Japan, started the business since 100 years ago.
Just 10 minutes walk from West Exit at Shinjuk Odawara station.
Phone: 03-5339-7515
Hisago, 60 years in business.
Beside the tunnel at the Shinjuku station East exit.
Nakamura Ya, first and most famous Curry Rice shop since 1901. Just opposite 01 Young in Shinjuku.
Phone: 03-3352-6161
There are more information at the reference resource that is here.

Ondori (Kyushu). 3356-0687 A Kyushu-style chicken specialty restaurant. Reservations required; full-course dinners from Y7,000. Shinjuku 1-23-11. Open 6-9pm. Closed Saturdays, Sundays.
Dora (Izakaya). 3226-0919 This basement branch of the Donjaca chain offers a wide menu of izakaya-style fare and Japanese sake. The Japanese dishes are much better than their multi-cultural experiments. Shinjuku 3-9-5, B1F. (Across from BYGS Bldg.) Open 5pm-5am daily.
Shousuke (Yakitori). 3341-2468 Shousuke is a spacious, two-story affair – downstairs there’s a big sushi counter, and upstairs are several semi-private booths for two, four or more, separated by bamboo blinds for privacy. The decor is tasteful Japanese modern, with polished wood surfaces and subdued lighting. Given the very pretty setting and the modest menu prices, we were quite unprepared for the quality of the food, which is simply spectacular.
Donjaca (Suehiro-dori) (Izakaya). 3357-8090 Superlative izakaya-style fare in a lively, noisy setting. They have an impressive and ever-changing selection of jizake (regional sake), plus good sashimi and grilled fish. Intriguing original creations include maguro kimuchii yukke, made with raw tuna and raw egg and flavored with kimchee and sesame oil. No English spoken. Shinjuku 3-6-12, 2F. Open 4pm-5am daily.
Niimura (honten) (Shabu-shabu). 3205-2200 Friendly service and high-quality shabu-shabu available until the wee hours of the morning. Kabukicho 1-14-3. Open 11-2am (LO 1:30) daily.
Denpachi (Japanese). 3200-8003 One of Tokyo’s best sardine specialty restaurants, with branches in Higashi-Ginza and Omotesando. Kabukicho 1-15-8. Open 5pm-midnight (food LO 11:30pm). Closed Sundays.
Enjoy and safe travels!
