Is Amsterdam safe? what about hostels?

We are going on an educational trip to Amsterdam and will be staying in a hostel near the Red Light District. How safe is that? Can important thing such as coursework, passports and money be left in the hostel or would i have to carry it? I heard being robbed is common there.. What about the red light district? im just under 18 and i really dont want to walk through there!(being females..) Any tips? Thanks.

If she told you after a few dates and hadn’t slept with you would you find it worse if she said she was a prostitute or worse if you’d had sex and had been seeing her a few months.

the employer doesn’t give you any length of time to think properly…and want the answer on the day. The job is from a proper company with good pay, only that the location is on red light district…..as I’m female, my family is really concerned about it.

im going to Amsterdam in June and im curious about some things.like about the red light district.. is that like a boardwalk, is there more than one? also i want to go to a zoo out there where is there a zoo? any other suggestions? i am pretty much informed on all the ‘coffee shops’ but i would like to know anything anyone who has been there before can tell me. all info is appreciated.. thanks! muah!
