What is Amsterdam like?

Me and my boyfriend wanted a little break somewhere and both ended up agreeing on going to Amsterdam.
The thing is, Amsterdam is famous for it’s red light district hookers, where they parade about in more or less nothing in windows.
I’m really insecure and it would really bother me if they were always there like i think they might be :/
I was just wondering if anyone knows if Amsterdam is actually like that?

Why come the United States won’t legalize prostitution like they do overseas?

I’ve been to Germany and I noticed that they have legalized prostitution. They have red light districts and they have prostitutes who wait in cars along streetsides and it’s perfectly legal it’s a legal business. The rape cases are very low because of legalized prostitution also. I think the United States should do the same thing. I think they’re concerned about low marriage rates if prostitution gets legalized in our country. That’s o.k. though the rape cases would drop almost down to zero and the sexually transmitted diseases would drop significantly too. Over there the prostitutes always use condomns even when performing oral sex. I think it would be a good thing. I’d get a petition for a bill to be passed on it. Sounds like a good idea to me.

im planning to go to amsterdam in june and i just wanted to know somethings about it. like whats up with the red light district, like is it a boardwalk, is there more than one,. and i wanted to check out a zoo there. coffe shops im pretty much informed about but what are some other cool things i should check out?

Looks like some clothing manufacturer unloaded thousands of suits with bold and shiny stripes for a buy-one-get-one-free deal onto all these TV newscasters, and now they all look like a bunch of pimps in a red light district.
