What’s a decent budget hotel in Singapore if I’m going with my family?

Going with my wife n 3yo daughter. Found some budget hotels in Geylang area (Hotel 81) but was told that it’s the red light district. How (un)safe or (un)suitable wud it b for a family? Any other suggestions? Going for appointment at NUH so any hotels nearby? Preferrably under MYR150.
