I’ve heard it said time and time again that if you are using any kind of sex toy like a dildo or vibrator you must be desperate for a man or you’re just a sexual freak or pervert. You have to believe that such a statement is so absurd and outdated.

In this day and age we are so much more aware of our bodies and our sexuality. Just think about how often you hear about the use and necessity of sexual enhancement products that could help with your libido and erection. Sexual dysfunction products are advertised everywhere in magazine ads and on television.

Well for one reason think about it like this, if your penis doesn’t function properly women know that it is not your fault it is just a common occurrence due to age, sickness or just a poor life style. With that said that is why it is so important having a double buddy to help you keep your spouse sexually satisfied. I call it a double buddy because you are one and your dildo or vibrator is the other. Not you’re best friend or her co worker. You are penetrating her with a vibrator and causing her to climax and you still get to share that experience with her.

The second reason is that I like to group people who use sex toys into two groups. One kind is what we all have known about the ones that like to be tied up, whipped and then penetrated. This fetish is also known as bondage. This is an extreme kind of sexual play and activity. This is also out of the ordinary and by incorporating some sex toys into your lovemaking like a dildo, vibrator, anal dildo, or penis ring this doesn’t mean that you are going to gravitate to that kind of extreme behavior.

The other group of men and women who enjoy playing with dildos and vibrators are just like you and me. This group is more reserved, shy, and proper in nature. Not wanting to be harmed yet like to kick things up a bit. We want something extra to our sexual experience, you know something out of the ordinary.

Thirdly, it doesn’t mean that women are looking to replace you in bed. We still want and need you there for affection. An orgasm is a strong need to our bodies and our existence. This is why sex toys are important and a necessity for your relationship. You are the provider of many things in your household. Food, shelter and comfort. Now realize that your sexual health is just as important.

A vibrating dildo brings you to the climatic stage sooner than you could ever believe possible. Don’t be self conscious or think it’s a freakish act to admit you like it. That is why sex toys were made.

There are many people who enjoy playing with sex toys but there are some that don’t. The sex toy industry took in more than a billion dollars last year alone. So I guess one thing is safe to say that there are a lot of fulfilled and happy couples out their. But the question that is wondered and one that has sparked a bit of controversy in the industry is its safety. Could any of these products and its use be toxic to our bodies?

Well, there are two kinds of adult sex toys on the market today. You have novelty toys which are intended for showing and not to be inserting into any orifice. Then you have the insert able dildos and vibrators which can be used for insertion or penetration into any bodily orifice.

Some of the less expensive toys are obviously made from cheaper materials like polyvinylchloride or PVC. This is a synthetic material which is used in things like building material, medical appliances, children’s toys and many other things. Phthalates is a plasticizer which is another material added to polyvinylchloride because this material makes sex toys softer and more pliable which a desired feature in adult sex products is. Like some children’s toys they are no regulations of the manufacturing of sex toys and products that are made in china.

The topic of concern is that this material could be toxic. I have not found any evidence to suggest that this is a valid statement. Especially when their has been no testing that I am aware of. With friction in the vaginal or anal cavity toxins could be released and absorbed through the mucous membrane. Since their has been no testing it is recommended by the manufacturer and physicians that if you since discomfort or become irritated you should stop using any and all kinds of sex toys and consult with your physician immediately. Don’t assume that you have std’s or that you haven’t cleaned your sex toy properly. You could be allergic to the material.

Sometimes when you purchase and unwrap a new toy that product may have a strong plastic smell to it. Almost like a new car would smell like. It is recommended to wash your dildo or vibrator thoroughly with warm soap and water or use a quality sex toy cleaner and leave it in the open air for a while.

Also you should use a condom over all your sex toys and products to ensure safety especially if you are sharing your sex toys. When you are finished using your toy and have thoroughly sanitized them you should store all your sex toys and products in an airtight container and out of direct sunlight. If you just follow a few simple rules about how to protect yourself then everything should be okay for you. Go and enjoy your sex toy today.
