What exactly is the difference between prostitution and pornography?

April 12, 2010 by

My professor pointed this out yesterday. There is really no difference other than one is video taped and legal and the other is not. Concerning the ACORN case, why are we so up in arms about prostitution(the 14 year old thing we should be) why there is a multi billion dollar Corporation doing the same thing?

Porn is slightly more classy! Haha What a great question…I never thought of that! Oh yeah people enjoy WATCHING porn!

  4. Big bro's handiwipes says:

In pornography the government is the pimp.

  5. I cant believe this website says:

    Your professor is a simpleton

No one can get a social disease or aids from watching pornography.

Prostitution – the point is getting sex…

Pornography the point is recording nudity or sex… to show to others.

    I see LOADS of difference.

You are almost a libertarian. Keep it up.

Consenting adults are none of my business. If they want to be prostitutes I dont care it doesnt affect me. In this instance however there are underage children involved.

    Stamina!

I don’t know, but it sure sounds like someone is getting screwed!

  10. Bill says:

Prostitution they are selling there body to anyone who wants it. ie they have sex with multiple different men at random. This puts them at risk for STDs, rape, assault, robbery, etc etc

In pornography they are recorded having sex with one person who has been tested for STDs, won’t hurt the girl, etc etc.

If you and your professor don’t know the difference between prostitution and pornography I suggest you take 50 bucks to the video store and 50 bucks down to the local Ho’s stroll and see which one is more satisfying.

    your professor?
are you sure he is an academic? as there is a lot of difference!
first – define prostitution – is a girl sleeping with her boyfriend to get something in return defined as a prostitute? (rhetorical question!)
second – what is porn? the depiction of erotic behaviour

  13. Shawn says:

filming it, that’s it. so next time you get a whore, tape it. That way you can’t be charged with prostitution. You can even use a cell phone camera and claim it’s a new web site you are putting up. Cell Phone Boning

  14. Obama Hood - Spread the Wealth says:

    1) with prostitution a transaction is between two people and one person usually benefits
    2) with porno, not only do both parties profit, but so does the corporation as well as many others who are spanking the monkey.

  15. kfinto says:

ACORN was telling the ‘pimp’ and ‘prostitute’ how to break the law. What Corporation is doing the same thing? I cannot compare ACORN to some unnamed corporation.

  16. Bad Boy says:

Prostitution can endanger public health as where porn does not.

  17. yoselahonda says:

The prostitution (except the underage thing) isn’t really the problem with the ACORN videos. It’s that the ACORN employees showed a willingness to assist people in breaking the law. In addition to the prostitution they would have been filing fraudulent tax returns, used tax payer money to aid in illegal activity, money laundering…etc.

As far as the difference between prostitution and pornography I don’t think there is any difference, and both should therefore be illegal. Both involve people having sex for money. So I guess maybe the amateur stuff would then be considered legal huh? Weird!

  18. senjin7 says:

Really the difference is who’s having the sex.

If you pay a prostitue to have sex with “you’” and film it , it’s prostitution. If you pay a prostitute to have sex with someone else and film it, it’s acting.

That’s the law. it doesn’t have to make sense.

  19. kathy_is_a_nurse says:

I’d rather my tax dollars NOT go to fund either.

  20. Sarah P says:

Great question indeed. Prostitution/human trafficking is also a multi billion dollar corporation so you are essentially talking about the same things, since most porn stars are also in prostitution as well.

to answer your question, most of these women are brain-damaged and downright insane from abuse, rape and brutality. and they are under threats of violence as well.

why government is not doing much to stop them? well because they could really care less about diease ridden sex slaves and porn stars as long as they can keep them silent, discard them and make fortune.

its only the ones who are in that network that suffer the most.

everyone else, gets what they want. government make money, police make money, rich men get sex, average men can enjoy porn, jealous women don’t care.

except the women who are being victimzed and their family members.

only way to tackle the problem is by educating people, demand the government to prosecute anyone involved in the trade as well as illegal porn productions where women are abusing drugs and mentally incapacitated.

but the problem is, people are so busy making their ends meet that they don’t really have much time nor sympathy for women on drug being gangbanged, or kidnapped, or being sold on internet right in front of your eyes.

but largely its also a fear factor and lack of systemetic control.

and also Men who should protect these women can’t control their biological needs because they are close to animals than human beings with empathy and soul.
