Was wondering where the red light district was from Amsterdam CS. I stayed near the Hard Rock Cafe last time but that was pretty far from Amsterdam CS and i dont remember exactly where the Red Light District was. Anyone help me with a good central location between both or atleast help me locate it on a map? Thanks

Oh, it won’t be hard to find it… It will be getting back to the train that will be tricky… it might take a few months longer than you planned. Have Fun!!!

Come out of CS walk accross the road turn left and follow your nose, you cant miss the red light area and there are plenty of hotels there that always have rooms available

Marcchi is right: come out of the station, cross the square and the canal, and turn left. If you’ve got a map, look for the Oudezijds Voorburgwal – this one isn’t too bad: http://www.coffeeshop.freeuk.com/ACDfrmGu.html?ACDpage=General/GenCS.html

…or take any tram at the left side of the Central Station when you face forward; they all stop at ‘Dam’ (= first stop). The tram drier will call “Dam, National Monument, Madam Tussaud’s, Kalverstraat, Red Light District” and turn left (= the side where the National Monument + Hotel Krasnapolsky are). If you can’t find it, just ask because the RLD isn’t a a secret place to be ashamed of at all, everyone will know and help you find your way.
