Maybe if it were legalized they wouldn’t be getting “pity cash,” though I don’t think all of them are now. The amount the ex governor of New York paid was pretty good “pity cash.” Someone should take pity on me like that!
if your asking why it should be legal than:
1) its a woman’s right to use her body however she wants to
2) its been done since the begining of time, why continue to waste taxpayer dollars on something you will never stop
if your asking why it is illegal than:
crack headed men in congress will think it will get them caught if they advocate for it.
It is illegal for religious reasons (or at least that’s how it started out)
but now ….it’s probably for health reasons…and because its almost ALWAYS tied to drug use
Since when was prostitution just a “women” problem? It’s both sexes. I don’t think it should be illegal. It should be a service like any other. I bet there would be less crime and VD from it.
Prostitution is not illegal everywhere. Why do you think women shouldn’t “sell their bodies”? In some cases, it is all they have to sell. What about all the men who are buying? Do you think that might be a problem? Do you see anything wrong with that?
In places where prostitution is illegal, the legal issues are usually entwined with religious issues. Some people view prostitution as immoral. I suspect you do, too.
1.prostitution should be legal because then everything will be monitored—their blood analysis—, they will be safer—no more pimps and beat-ups, no more murders–
2. it’s a woman’s choice to sell/not to sell their bodies.
3. it is immoral, unreligious.
it gives men the impression that women are ready to satisfy them
it makes the difference between sexes even larger..making it even more impossible to reach societal equality with men…thus women being always looked down on.
It should be illegal. Think of the social problems it will cause if it was accepted by society.
Firstly, marriages would break or families would break, because family members would either be using prostitutes as if it were a regular norm or be the prostitutes themselves!
How would you feel if your mother or sister, or wife was a prostitute? Would you be able to accept that and be comfortable knowing that?
Anyway, both prostitute and customer are exploited at the same time. One loses his cash – the other violates her body, both are victims.
It is illegal because it is nearly impossible for the government to track for tax collection purposes. Same reason that pot is illegal.
In all honesty, the places that have it legalized have strict health standards, the women need to be tested regularly and the customers must always wear condoms, unlike the average stranger that you may meet in a bar and later have sex with.
Although I would hope no female relative of mine resorted to it, I think if a women or man chooses to charge for sex they should be able to. Think of the tax revenue that could be generated if it were legalized. Plus it would save men alot of trouble if they could go out and pay for sex instead spending that money in wasteful dates with women they don’t plan on spending the rest of the life with any anyway( because unless you can pull off multiple one night stands, you are paying for sex whether you like it or not). If I were a women I would also want to know what man would use a prostitute, so as not to associate myself with him(this is moral side of my argument)
Just because something is legal doesn’t make it moral(see abortion) and just because something is immoral doesn’t mean it should be illegal(see prostitution)
